July was an amazing month to say the least. I started the month off making a last minute decision to see the Greatful Dead play in Chicago for what could be their very last concert ever?!? The following Monday I left for Paris which I had never been to before! I spent the week living in a beautiful Chataeu in the french countryside with the Kayla Barker Photography Workshop. It was such an amazing experience and I left feeling inspired and ready to take on August and Fall weddings! Of course, I had no idea that when I left the chateau to meet Matthew in Paris, he was to propose only a few hours later! We dined at La Fermette Marbeuf while I was going a hundred miles a minute catching Matt up on what happened at the workshop…meanwhile surrounded by the most amazing decor and architecture. The next thing I know we’re taking a romantic stroll along the Seine River. Matt positions my hips to be able to view the river and the Eiffel Tower then gets down on one knee and proposes?! After that we went on our “proposal-moon” in Barcelona! When I got back  to DC, I only had a few days in town before I drove down to Charleston with a beautiful Buttercream Bakery cake in the passenger seat and a back seat full of beautiful gowns! I met Kelley Cannon in Charleston to pull together the last few items for our shoot at Legare Waring with Paprika Southern Magazine. I have to tell you that the shoot was mid-day in the exhausting southern heat but we survived and look at the gorgeous images we made?!? Paprika Southern published this shoot as an editorial in their very first print issue. Make sure to check it out! I was blown away by the unique stories, print quality, and of course pretty photos!

You may notice that this sweet family shows up on my blog quite often. I’ve had so many wonderful opportunities to photograph their growing family during the past two years. I’m so sad to see them move back to Texas but feel so blessed to have found a family who treasures their family photographs as much a I do.

Here are a few favorite shots from my make-up day at DC Film Is Not Dead Workshop. But thanks go to Jonathan Canlas for allow me to join in on the Day 2 session. As you probably remember me mentioning I got some kind of stomach flu while I was at the Orem, Utah FIND workshop…. But now all I’m caught up!

How GORGEOUS is this family?!??! I could photograph them all day long!

Washington, DC in the Spring is one of the most magical places. After another bitter cold Winter I was more than thrilled to welcome the cherry blossoms, Magnolias, Dogwoods, and Forsythia back into my life. I’m reminded every year at this time of how blessed I am to live in our nation’s capitol. Today I want to share with you a blossom filled maternity session!
